Technicians Role In Vending Machine

Whenever we talk of a technician, we are reminded of installation and repair works. These are not the only functions performed by a technician. Besides these functions, he is also responsible for loading and unloading the vending machine, transporting it to new locations and make necessary adjustments in its connections. Post installation of the machine it is their duty to see to it that it works properly.

The services required for all vending machines is not the same. For some, technicians need to check the product dispensing mechanism and change dispensing operations. While for other machines, technician might need to check on refrigeration and heating mechanism. All these functions have to be conducted regularly in order to ensure that the machine works efficiently.

Vending machines are used round the clock and are thus subjected to lot of wear and tear. At times they may be damaged due to rough or improper handling by customers. This is a very common problem in the vending industry. That is why quality of vending machine plays a crucial role. While purchasing, operators should always prefer new vending machines of established or reputed brands.

It is the technician’s job to determine the cause of any problem in the vending machine. If necessary he has to undertake repair, replace and rebuild defective parts. An operator should have minimum technical in order to deal with minor repairs. This will ensure that machine is not ideal for longer time periods. However, when it comes to major repairs, technician is the only competent person capable of fixing them.

As a general practice, for carrying out any repairs, technicians follow blueprints, illustrations, schematics, repair manuals and diagrams to help them. Besides these tools like screwdrivers, pipe cutters, wrenches, soldering irons and hammers are also used to keep machines in working condition.

Prevention is always better than cure. This holds good for smooth functioning of vending business. Proper maintenance, regular servicing and thorough cleaning of machines can keep it in good working condition.
